On June 11, 2026, Harris County Commissioners Court approved a formal partnership agreement with the Houston Food Bank. The non-financial MOU means no county money changes hands — instead, both groups agree to work together on food access and hunger relief across Harris County. The Houston Food Bank is the largest food bank in the country by distribution and serves 18 counties in southeast Texas through more than 1,800 community partners.
This MOU sets rules for how Harris County government and the Houston Food Bank will work together on food access. No county tax dollars are exchanged, but the agreement shapes how food programs are coordinated across the county.
