For Community Organizations

Partner with Community Exchange

Your organization does the work. We help more people find it.

Who this is for

Organizations doing real work in Houston

Community Exchange is a directory and discovery tool for Houston residents. If your organization provides services, runs programs, hosts events, or advocates on issues that affect Houston neighborhoods, you belong here.

We include nonprofits, mutual aid groups, community benefit organizations, civic associations, faith communities with public programs, and government agencies that directly serve residents. If you are doing the work, we want people to be able to find you.

We do not list organizations that charge fees for basic services, operate pay-to-play referral systems, or contradict the values in our Community Agreement.

What being listed means

What your organization gets

An organization profile

A permanent page on Community Exchange with your mission, contact information, geography, and focus areas. Residents find you when they search or browse topics you work on.

Content attribution

Every guide, event, service, or program your organization offers carries your name and links back to your profile. Your work is visible, credited, and findable.

Pathway placement

Your programs appear in the right pathways — Staying Well, Where We Live, Making a Living, and others — so they reach residents who are specifically looking for what you offer.

Geographic precision

Your services and events are tagged to the neighborhoods and districts they serve. Residents in your area see your work when they explore their neighborhood.

Community standards

What we ask in return

Community Exchange is governed by the Community Agreement. Organizations listed on this platform agree to the same values as individual members: mutual aid, civic responsibility, respect across difference, truth and accuracy, and accountability.

We do not require a fee to be listed. We do require that your organization operates in alignment with these values. Organizations that violate community standards can be removed.

This is not a vendor directory. It is a community resource. We take that seriously.

How to get started

Three ways in

01

We find you

Our content pipeline actively searches for Houston organizations doing relevant work. If you are already listed, someone on our team found you and added what was publicly available. Check your profile at /organizations.

02

You submit content

Any authenticated member can submit a URL from your organization to our content queue. Our team reviews it, contacts you if needed, and publishes it once it meets our quality threshold.

03

You reach out directly

If you want a complete, reviewed, and actively maintained profile — especially for organizations with multiple programs or a large service footprint — reach out to us directly. We will work with you to get it right.
