Harris County Sports Tournament Coordinator Contract Renewal
Harris County renewed a contract to coordinate sports tournaments in Precinct 2, bringing athletic events and revenue to northeast Harris County parks.
Harris County Commissioners Court approved a contract renewal with ZT Parks LP to coordinate sports tournaments in Precinct 2. This two-year agreement runs from June 2026 to June 2028 and generates revenue for the county at 3% of tournament proceeds. Sports tournament coordination brings youth and adult athletic events to our community parks and facilities. These tournaments create opportunities for local athletes to compete, families to connect, and neighborhoods to come together around healthy activities. The events also boost our local economy by bringing visitors who spend money at restaurants, hotels, and shops. Precinct 2 covers northeast Harris County, including areas like Humble, Kingwood, and parts of northeast Houston. Having professional tournament coordination means better-organized events, proper facility maintenance, and more opportunities for our young people to stay active and engaged. The revenue sharing model helps fund park improvements and programs that benefit all residents. Tournament activities can include baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, and other sports that use county facilities. These events often feature teams from across the region, showcasing our community's athletic talent.
