Harris County Commissioners Court will consider whether Reliant Park (NRG Park) should continue hosting high school graduation ceremonies for area school districts. Commissioner Joe Conrad of Precinct 3 introduced the item on August 26, 2026. It is scheduled to be heard at the September 8, 2026 court meeting. The court may renew, modify, or reconsider arrangements for using the venue's large, air-conditioned facilities for local commencements.
Harris County may change or end the arrangement that lets local high schools hold graduation ceremonies at Reliant Park (NRG Park). Families with graduating seniors could be affected if the venue changes.
