Harris County's emergency responders — police, fire, EMS — rely on a shared radio system called TxWARN to communicate across agencies. Keeping this system updated and running is critical to public safety. This amendment makes sure that support and upgrades continue through August 2027.
The county wants to extend its existing agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc. through August 31, 2027. The deal covers system enhancements and upgrades for the TxWARN Astro P25 radio network.
Importantly, the total contract amount stays the same — no new spending is being added.

This is a sole source contract, meaning Motorola is the only vendor that can provide this specific service for this system.
