A U.S. Senate resolution congratulating Alpha Delta Pi Sorority on its 175th anniversary, honoring its history, membership, and community contributions.
The U.S. Senate introduced this resolution to recognize Alpha Delta Pi Sorority on its 175th anniversary. Founded in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia, it was the first secret society for college women. Today it has over 290,000 lifetime members, chapters at more than 220 schools, and raises over $1,000,000 per year for Ronald McDonald House. The Senate congratulates the sorority and acknowledges its members' contributions to education, the arts, government, and community service.
This resolution names a national sorority for an anniversary honor. It does not change local laws, spending, or services in Houston.
