About Sean Teare
Sean Teare is the Harris County District Attorney, sworn in on January 1, 2025, after winning the November 2024 general election. He served as a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney's Office for eleven years, including six years as Division Supervisor of the Vehicular Crimes Division. A Democrat, Teare defeated incumbent Kim Ogg in the March 2024 primary before winning the general election. As Harris County's chief prosecutor, he oversees one of the largest district attorney offices in Texas, serving a county of more than 4.8 million residents. Teare has focused on public safety, violent crime prosecution, and coordination with law enforcement agencies across the region. His office handles thousands of cases each year ranging from violent crime to public corruption.
