About Alejandra Salinas
Alejandra Salinas serves as Houston City Council Member for At-Large Position 4, having assumed office on January 6, 2026 after winning the December 2025 runoff election. She is the first openly LGBTQ+ Latina elected to Houston City Council and the first Latina elected citywide in nearly 30 years. A third-generation Texan and nationally recognized attorney, Salinas previously served as a partner at Susman Godfrey, where she helped protect Harris County elections, challenged discriminatory school policies, and secured significant legal victories.
