The Office of Academic Affairs at the University of Houston-Downtown oversees the school's full educational program. This includes four degree-granting colleges, the W. I. Dykes Library, continuing education, study abroad, and academic advising. UHD also offers courses at several Houston-area Lone Star College sites and online, making higher education more accessible to students across the region.

W. I. Dykes Library
The W. I. Dykes Library is located on the fourth and fifth floor of the historic One
Main Building. The library provides books, journals, and audiovisual materials to
meet lifelong learning needs of the faculty, staff, and students of UHD. In addition
to UHD resources, we offer full borrowing privileges at the libraries at the other
University of Houston System campuses.
Study Abroad
The Office of Study Abroad helps support the University's international initiatives
through the collection and distribution of information, and by overseeing UHD Study
Abroad Scholarship program.
Institutional Effectiveness
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness exists to support units throughout the university
in their continuing efforts to accomplish UHD's mission.
Data Analytics & Institutional Research
The mission of the Office of Data Analytics & Institutional Research (DAIR) is to
effectively and efficiently provide the planning and institutional research support
needed by the University.

The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs provide encouragement and assistance to
faculty and staff who engages in sponsored research intended to extend knowledge for
the University community, and the greater community that the institution serves.
