Houston Food Bank Facility Overview

The Houston Food Bank runs one of the most active food facilities in the city. At 308,000 square feet, it holds a working warehouse, a full kitchen, and a conference center — all under one roof. Your group can tour the whole operation and see exactly how food gets from donation to table.

The facility includes a 308,000-square-foot warehouse where volunteers and forklifts work side by side to sort and move food. The 10,000-square-foot Keegan Kitchen prepares hot meals for children. A rooftop array of 440 solar panels covers 5,300 square feet and generates 96,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year — enough savings to equal about three meals per hour. A conference center rounds out the space for events and group gatherings.
