Add to your dashboard Personal water cooler break The Houston Multicultural Center's resource guide connects immigrants and refugees in Houston to key local services. It covers the Immigration Rights Hotline (1-833-468-4664, Mon–Fri 9am–5pm) for legal referrals and policy updates, Houston Health Department services, HISD enrollment support, United Way 211 for social services, emergency food and shelter, and a list of adult education and ESL programs at locations across Houston and Harris County.

• The Immigration Rights Hotline is a source for referrals to legal services providers and immigration attorneys.
• The Immigrant Rights Hotline also provides timely and accurate information about changing immigration policies and is a place to report discrimination and racial profiling.
• Call 1-833-468-4664 for assistance (Monday
- Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
• The Houston Health Department provides services, including immunizations, birth control, healthy foods for young children and mothers through WIC, testing for certain infectious diseases, health education, basic health services and assistance accessing health care and social services.

• The Houston Independent School District remains committed to educating every student regardless of their immigration status.
• For more information call (713) 556-7121.
• The United Way 211 Helpline provides non- emergency information such as help finding child care, food stamps, care for an aging parent or a haven from domestic violence. They have a list of social services that you can contact for help.
• Dial 211 for assistance. The hotline is operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in many languages.
• Several locations across Houston provide emergency food and shelter.

• The Houston Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety of Houstonians regardless of immigration status.
• For emergencies, call 911 for Fire, Police or Ambulance.
