Houston Multicultural Center helps refugees and immigrants in Houston build a stable, independent life. From your first days here to finding steady work, the center walks alongside you with practical support — housing, food, job training, health coverage help, and more.
The center offers a full range of services under one roof. Cultural orientation helps you understand life in Houston from day one. Staff assist with finding housing and food. Job readiness programs build your skills and connect you with employers. The center also helps eligible clients apply for Medicaid (government health coverage) and Social Security benefits. Through their Language Without Boundaries program — run by their parent organization, ECDC (Ethiopian Community Development Council) — they provide interpretation and translation in 300-plus languages across 22 school districts, healthcare providers, legal firms, and nonprofits in the Greater Houston and Austin areas. More than 240 trained, experienced interpreters support this work.
