The Cavalcade Community Center — also known as the Kashmere Annex — is a free community hub at 3815 Cavalcade in Houston's Precinct One. It gives residents a place to meet, learn, get healthy, and connect. Whether you need a meeting room, a computer, a fitness class, or teen health care, this center has something for you.
The center offers two reservable meeting rooms (each seats up to 20 people, weekdays only), free Wi-Fi and computers, and a Teen Health Clinic run by Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). BCM stands for Baylor College of Medicine, a well-known Houston medical institution. Clinic hours are Monday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Programs include exercise options like Arthritis Exercise, Chair Exercises, Mat Pilates, Senior Group Fitness Training, a Walking Group, Yoga, and Zumba. Enrichment programs cover Arts and Crafts, Board Games, Computer Classes, Gardening, Health Seminars, Monthly Field Trips, Special Events, and a Biking Program. Some programs require registration.
Start by deciding what you need most. Looking for a meeting space? Check the reservation process and book a room on a weekday. Need internet access? Drop in and use the free computers and Wi-Fi. Want to get active? Pick an exercise class that fits your pace — there are options for all fitness levels, including chair-based and senior-focused classes. Have a teenager who needs health care? Call the BCM Teen Clinic directly at 713-673-1655 to schedule an appointment. For programs that require registration, contact the center to get your spot.
