Good first step: Act Visit Alabonson Park with your family or youth sports team
Search 'Alabonson Park Harris County' to find the address, hours, and field reservation info before you go.
Alabonson Park is a free, 50-acre youth sports complex in Harris County. Sitting along White Oak Bayou, it turns a flood mitigation area into a place where kids and families can play, gather, and enjoy the outdoors.
The park offers four baseball and softball fields, one regulation soccer field, a practice field, and a football field. You will also find a pavilion with picnic tables, a concession stand, a playground, a community meeting room, and a butterfly garden — a nice touch for nature lovers of any age.
Plan your visit around the seasonal hours so you arrive with plenty of daylight. Bring your own food and use the designated grills or camp stoves — open fires are not allowed. Keep pets on a leash, pick up after them, and skip the glass containers. If your group wants to serve alcohol or use fireworks, you will need a permit in advance. Leave the metal detectors at home unless you have a contract with Harris County.
Open year-round. Summer hours (March through October): 7 am to 8 pm. Winter hours (November through February): 7 am to 6 pm.
