The 2026 Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Community Summit is a free, two-day gathering at The Montrose Center where LGBTQ+ people, allies, and more than 27 organizations come together to build a real action plan for wellness, equity, safety, and belonging in Houston.
Over two full days, you can take part in collaborative visioning sessions, interactive workshops, cultural showcases, and wellness activities. Open forums give every voice space to be heard. At the end, attendees vote on calls to action — real commitments that shape LGBTQ+ life in the city. Sessions and support services are available in Spanish and ASL (American Sign Language), so more people can fully participate. Participating organizations span health, legal aid, advocacy, faith, arts, and economic sectors.
Use what you learn here to connect with organizations working on the issues that matter most to you — whether that's affirming healthcare, economic opportunity, youth homelessness, or legal protections. The Summit's voting process means your voice directly shapes the community's priorities for the year ahead. If you want to do more, you can join a planning team before the event and help make it happen.

More than 27 Houston-area organizations are already on board, including Legacy Community Health, Equality Texas, the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus, Trans Legal Aid Clinic of Texas, Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, Human Rights Campaign Houston, Pride Houston 365, Tony's Place, and the Diana Foundation — America's oldest active gay organization, with 73 years of service. Faith communities, arts groups, and trans-led organizations are also at the table, making this one of the broadest coalitions in the event's history.
Right now, Houston's LGBTQ+ community faces growing pressure — from healthcare access to housing for LGBTQ+ youth to attacks on transgender people's rights. This Summit brings the community and its supporters into the same room to face those challenges together. Nearly 250 people showed up in 2025. The 2026 event is bigger, with more organizations and a broader agenda. It carries on the spirit of the historic 1978 Town Meeting I, a turning point for LGBTQ+ rights and services right here in Houston.
