These two programs use federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money to help neighborhoods. One program addresses nuisance properties — things like unsafe structures or trash-filled lots. The other removes lead-based paint from homes, which is especially important for protecting young children from lead poisoning.
Updating the budgets keeps both programs funded and running.
The Commissioners Court is being asked to approve amendments to two existing agreements with Harris County Public Health (HCPH). The changes update the budget section (Exhibit B) for each program. Both programs are funded through Program Year 2025 federal CDBG dollars.
