The Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command is the local arm of The Salvation Army (Southern Territory) providing social services across the Houston region from about 17 locations. It offers emergency shelter and transitional housing, disaster relief, rent/utility and basic-needs assistance, youth and senior programs, rehabilitation, and seasonal Christmas assistance.
The Wayne Bergstrom Center of Hope provides emergency shelter and case management for homeless individuals and families, including housing assessment, job-search assistance, medical care, and recovery groups. Accessed by walk-in or intake, it is offered by a United Way of Greater Houston partner organization.
