The Salvation Army Greater Houston Area Command is the local arm of The Salvation Army (Southern Territory) providing social services across the Houston region from about 17 locations. It offers emergency shelter and transitional housing, disaster relief, rent/utility and basic-needs assistance, youth and senior programs, rehabilitation, and seasonal Christmas assistance.
The Angel Tree / Christmas Assistance program provides free Christmas gifts to children age 12 and under and seniors 62+, serving over 15,000 children and seniors annually in Houston. Registration is required via the Angel Tree registration page through this United Way partner organization.
