MECA (Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts) is a community-based nonprofit founded in 1977, committed to the healthy development of under-served and under-represented families through arts and cultural programming, the promotion of academic excellence, support services, and community building. It delivers arts education to Houston-area youth via in-school, out-of-school, and summer programs, and offers free wraparound support services such as tutoring, mentoring, counseling, and college prep. It operates from the historic Dow School and TBH Center campuses.
Sunburst Summer Arts Camp from MECA, a United Way of Greater Houston partner, a full-day summer arts camp providing arts education, life-skills classes, and field trips during the summer break. Spots are limited; register online via the MECA website.
