We will show what we know and where it came from.
More than 40 nonprofits, faith groups, and businesses across Greater Houston work together to grow a compassionate culture city-wide.
Citywide — partner organizations are located throughout Greater Houston
Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country, and this network puts that diversity to work. Partners from dozens of faith traditions, civic sectors, and neighborhoods team up to create programs that bring real compassion into everyday life. It's neighbor helping neighbor, at city scale.
Compassionate Houston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 by Rev. Betty Adam, dedicated to growing the compassionate culture of Greater Houston through awareness, education, community, and service. It operates as a collaborative network of partner organizations spanning nonprofits, faith communities, compassion-focused practice groups, and like-minded businesses. Entirely volunteer-driven, the organization runs programs such as Compassion Week, Project Kindness, Compassionate Integrity Training, and an annual Reflection Luncheon, and serves as Houston's chapter of the global Compassionate Cities Movement.
