Safe shelter from domestic violence — 24-hour crisis line

Women and families facing domestic violence, sexual assault, or trafficking can find immediate help through the Houston Area Women's Center. This organization operates a free, confidential crisis line 24 hours a day, seven days a week. HAWC serves thousands of people each year who are escaping dangerous situations. The center provides safe shelter, crisis response, and support services. Trained staff help survivors transform their lives and build safety for themselves and their children. The organization also works to prevent violence before it happens. Staff provide education and training throughout the community.
