Harris County Commissioners Court will consider creating a Chief Infrastructure Officer (CIO) role and appointing Toll Road Authority Executive Director Roberto Trevino to fill it from July 9, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The CIO would co-chair a new Infrastructure Coordination and Performance Committee, manage day-to-day coordination across county departments, standardize project reporting, and help cut red tape so infrastructure projects move faster and more consistently across Harris County.
A new county-level role would oversee how infrastructure projects are coordinated across Harris County departments. Neighbors may see changes in how road, drainage, or other public works projects are tracked and managed.
