Request that the County Judge execute an agreement with Arc of Harris County to support the delivery of community-based services for Harris County residents with intellectual and development disabilities (IDD) and/or autism and the families of such residents at designated Precinct 4 community centers, at no cost to the County.

Harris County Commissioners Court is considering an agreement that would let the Arc of Harris County use Precinct 4 community centers at no cost to the county. The Arc is a nonprofit serving Harris County residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism, along with their families. Programs include social and recreational activities, respite services, educational advocacy, and support groups. The item was introduced June 26, 2026, and is on the July 9, 2026 Commissioners Court agenda.

If approved, a nonprofit called Arc of Harris County could use Precinct 4 community centers for free to run programs for residents with IDD, autism, and their families. Neighbors in Precinct 4 may see these centers used for those services.
