Harris County will vote July 9, 2026 on rebuilding Wallingford Drive in West Houston with new pavement, drainage, sidewalks, and bike lanes.
Harris County Commissioners Court will vote on July 9, 2026 on a partnership with Westchase District to fully rebuild Wallingford Drive between Westheimer and Meadowglen Lane in West Houston. The project includes new pavement, drainage upgrades, rebuilt sidewalks, bike lanes, and pedestrian lighting. It is part of Commissioner Lesley Briones' Places 4 People initiative, a roughly $33.5 million effort to improve safety, mobility, and flood resilience in Precinct 4. Funding is expected in the FY 2027–2028 budget cycle.
Wallingford Drive between Westheimer and Meadowglen Lane could be rebuilt with new pavement, drainage, sidewalks, bike lanes, and lighting. Neighbors on or near that road may see construction activity and road changes.
