Harris County is voting July 9, 2026 on a deal with Houston to build new water lines in east Houston's Precinct 2.
Harris County Commissioners Court is voting on a formal agreement with the City of Houston to design, build, and maintain new water lines in east Houston's Precinct 2. The lines would run about 2.5 miles west along Clinton Drive from the East Water Purification Plant onto Mascot Street, plus about 4,000 feet south along Mayo Shell Road from Clinton Road. The vote is scheduled for July 9, 2026. The public may attend or watch online at harriscountytx.gov.
This agreement would add new water lines in east Houston's Precinct 2 near Clinton Drive, Mascot Street, and Mayo Shell Road. Neighbors in that area may be affected by construction activity or changes to local water service infrastructure.
