Request for approval of an agreement with the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations for use of the County's communications systems.
Harris County may allow the USPS Inspector General's investigators to access county communications systems under a new interlocal agreement.
Harris County Commissioners Court may approve a deal (File 26-4471) letting the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General use Harris County's communications systems. The USPS OIG is a federal agency that looks into fraud, waste, and misconduct inside the Postal Service. The item was introduced June 26, 2026, and is set for a vote at the July 9, 2026 Commissioners Court meeting. Contact Tiffany.Amboree@harriscountytx.gov with questions.
This deal would allow a federal agency to use Harris County's communications systems. Residents may want to know which systems are shared, under what terms, and for how long.
