Harris County may temporarily bridge $107,824.92 to keep five My Brother's Keeper grant positions running through July 1, 2027.
On July 9, 2026, Harris County Commissioners Court will consider a request from Harris County Resources for Children & Adults to temporarily move $107,824.92 in general funds to keep five staff positions running while the county waits to receive its FY26 My Brother's Keeper grant from the City of Houston. If approved, those positions would be extended through July 1, 2027. My Brother's Keeper Houston works to improve education, employment, and safety outcomes for boys and young men of color.
County general funds would temporarily cover five staff positions while grant money is pending. Neighbors may want to know public funds are being used as a bridge before grant reimbursement arrives.
