Harris County Precinct 7 received a $74,760 grant from the Houston-Galveston Area Council to fight illegal dumping in our neighborhoods. This two-year program helps keep our streets, vacant lots, and waterways clean by preventing people from throwing trash where it doesn't belong. Illegal dumping hurts our community. It brings rats, mosquitoes, and pollution. It makes neighborhoods look bad and lowers property values. It clogs our storm drains and can cause flooding. This grant lets Precinct 7 add cameras, hire cleanup crews, and educate residents about proper waste disposal. The program covers parts of northwest Harris County, including areas near Cypress, Tomball, and Spring. When we stop illegal dumping, we protect our health and make our neighborhoods safer places to live. The county is adding $15,300 of its own money to make this $90,060 total program work.
