This contract allows Harris County to provide temporary hotel housing for families during lead paint removal projects. When crews remove lead paint, families must temporarily move out to avoid breathing toxic dust.
Harris County has an agreement with Candlewood Suites in Baytown to house these families through December 2026. Lead poisoning is a serious health threat, especially for children under six years old. Even small amounts can cause learning problems, behavior issues, and delayed development.
