Harris County Commissioners Court approved a $200,000 contract renewal with Environmental Southwest and Sago Solutions to maintain our flood control systems. These companies remove blockages from storm drains and maintain structures that collect debris during flooding. This work protects neighborhoods across Harris County from flood damage. Our area faces frequent heavy rains and tropical storms. When storm drains get clogged with trash, leaves, and debris, water cannot flow properly. This causes street flooding that damages homes, cars, and businesses. The contract runs from July 2026 through June 2027. The companies will clear blocked drains and maintain floating collection systems that catch debris before it clogs critical drainage points. This prevents water from backing up into streets and neighborhoods. The contract meets county goals for minority and women-owned business participation at 96.21%, well above the 14.7% target.
