Harris County Commissioners Court approved an amendment to continue HIV care services through AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) under the Ryan White Program. This contract extension runs from March 2026 to February 2027 with no cost increase. The Ryan White Program provides essential HIV care and treatment services for people living with HIV who lack insurance or resources. AHF operates clinics that offer medical care, prescription medications, case management, and support services. The Minority AIDS Initiative specifically addresses HIV disparities in communities of color, while the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative aims to reduce new infections by 90% by 2030. These programs matter because Harris County has one of the highest HIV rates in Texas. Many residents depend on Ryan White services for life-saving medications and medical care they cannot afford elsewhere. The contract amendment adds advance payment provisions and updates data management requirements to improve service delivery.
