Harris County Commissioners Court approved an additional $182,829.50 for drainage improvements in the Humble Road Place and Parkland Estates neighborhoods. This contract amendment with Environmental Allies Inc. adds funding to an ongoing 2018 project designed to reduce flooding in these residential areas located in Precincts 1 and 2.
Flooding is a major concern for Harris County families. When heavy rains hit, poor drainage can damage homes, flood streets, and make neighborhoods unsafe. This project works to fix drainage problems before they cause expensive flood damage to our community.
The contract meets county goals for minority and women-owned business participation, with 24.43% participation against a 24.53% goal. This means local diverse businesses get opportunities to contribute to community improvements.
Residents in Humble Road Place and Parkland Estates will see direct benefits through better water flow during storms and reduced flood risk. The improvements protect property values and make neighborhoods safer during severe weather events.
