LISC Houston helps build stronger neighborhoods by providing money, training, and support to local groups working on affordable housing, jobs, and community dev
LISC Houston is the Houston office of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the nation's largest community development support organization. It works with residents, nonprofits, government agencies, and private partners to build stronger, more equitable neighborhoods across Houston. LISC Houston provides loans and equity investments for affordable housing and business development, offers technical assistance and training to local nonprofits and community development corporations (CDCs), and runs programs focused on economic opportunity — including Financial Opportunity Centers that help families build income and financial stability. It also leads GO Neighborhoods, a place-based community development model active in 17 of Houston's most underserved neighborhoods, and supports residents in creating Quality of Life Agreements — five-year community-driven strategic plans.
