The High Order of Owl Tailgating Society (HOOTS) is a Rice University scholarship organization founded in 1998. It raises money through tailgates at Rice football and baseball games to provide scholarships and textbook help for the children of Rice staff in facilities, housing and dining, transportation and parking, and the campus police department.
