Community Voices for Public Education (CVPE)

Community Voices for Public Education (CVPE) is a multi-racial, community-based nonprofit organization in Houston, Texas. It brings together parents, educators, students, and community members to stand up for strong and fair public schools. CVPE pushes for policies that help all children get a high-quality public education, especially kids from communities that have been left behind. The group works to reduce high-stakes standardized testing, support teachers, keep schools locally controlled, and fight against state takeovers and privatization of public schools. CVPE is organized as a 501(c)(4) and has a sister organization, CVPE Educational Forum, which is a 501(c)(3) focused on educational outreach and events.
