Topic: How the Texas House schedules bills and resolutions for votesSource: Texas Legislature official websiteCalendar Types: Daily, Supplemental, Local & Consent, Congratulatory & MemorialReading Time: Under 2 minutesKey Detail: A special list is made by the chief clerk when many bills pile up, usually near the end of session
The Texas House of Representatives uses several official calendars to schedule bills and resolutions for a full floor vote. This page is your go-to source for tracking what legislation is coming up — and when — during a Texas legislative session.
There are four main calendars to know. The Daily House Calendar lists brand-new bills and resolutions set for that day's floor action. The Supplemental House Calendar picks up unfinished business — measures that didn't get a vote the day before, postponed items, or bills ready to come off the table. The Local, Consent, and Resolutions Calendar covers local or noncontroversial bills that the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars has cleared. The Congratulatory and Memorial Calendar handles resolutions honoring people, events, or milestones. There's also a separate List of Items Eligible for Consideration. The chief clerk of the House prepares this list — at the speaker's request — when the volume of legislation gets high, usually in the final weeks of a regular session. It covers House bills with Senate changes, Senate bills headed to a conference committee, and conference committee reports ready for a vote. That list must be distributed at least six hours before it can be acted on.
Use this page to look up calendars by a specific date, check upcoming scheduled dates, or browse calendars from a past legislature. If you're tracking a bill — for yourself, your business, or your neighborhood — check the Daily and Supplemental calendars regularly during an active session. Near the end of session, watch the List of Items Eligible for Consideration closely, since that's when a lot of cross-chamber negotiation wraps up.

These House calendars work alongside the Texas Senate calendar process. A bill often moves between both chambers before it reaches the governor. If you're following a bill through the full legislative process, pair this resource with Senate scheduling information and the Texas Legislature's bill-tracking tools.
Knowing what's on the House calendar helps you stay ahead of the process. Bills can move fast. If a bill you care about is scheduled for a floor vote, this is where you'll find out — before it happens.
