HCLIP is a summer internship program led by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis for college students aged 18 and over who are interested in public service and leadership. Interns work inside Harris County government offices and partner nonprofits, gaining hands-on experience in areas like policy, communications, engineering, and community affairs. The program welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and helps them build professional skills and real-world experience for careers in public service.

• Offers professional development through workshops, lunch-and-learn events, and training sessions
• Facilitates networking events and social gatherings to help interns connect with professionals
• Recruits students from diverse educational, economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds
