Eyes on AI is an interactive educational game that teaches people about artificial intelligence surveillance technology and its impact on daily life. This digital learning tool presents real-world scenarios through questions, prompts, and interactive elements to help users understand how AI-powered cameras, facial recognition, and data collection systems work in communities across America.
We need to understand these technologies because they affect our privacy, safety, and civil rights. AI surveillance systems are used in schools, workplaces, public spaces, and neighborhoods. They can impact who gets hired, how students are disciplined, and which communities receive police attention. Understanding these systems helps us make informed decisions about technology in our lives.
This knowledge directly connects to our Houston experience. Our city uses various surveillance technologies in public transportation, downtown areas, and community spaces. Schools in HISD and surrounding districts may use AI systems for security. Local employers might use AI tools for hiring and monitoring. Understanding how these systems work helps us advocate for fair and transparent use of technology.
To get involved, visit eyeson-ai.org and play the interactive game. The experience takes about 15-20 minutes and walks you through different scenarios. Share what you learn with neighbors, family, and community groups. Use this knowledge to ask better questions at city council meetings, school board sessions, and community forums about technology policies that affect our neighborhoods.
