"Commissioner El Franco Lee spent 30 years building programs that lifted up Precinct One — especially young people and seniors. This center keeps that work going. Whether you want to get moving, pick up a new hobby, or simply meet neighbors, there is something here for you."
The El Franco Lee Senior/Community Center at 9500 Hall Rd in Houston is a Harris County Precinct One hub for fitness, arts, enrichment, and community connection. Named for longtime Commissioner El Franco Lee, the center carries on his commitment to youth, seniors, and neighbors of all ages.
The center offers a full lineup of fitness classes — ballroom dance, line dance, yoga, ChairOne Fitness (a seated workout), Mixxedfit, and a Walking Club. On the enrichment side you will find arts and crafts, health seminars, game days, gardening, monthly field trips, and special events. Outside, a Butterfly Garden and walking trail give you a peaceful spot to enjoy nature. Inside, an exercise room and auditorium round out the facilities.
Residents of Harris County Precinct One can drop in to explore programs or call ahead to ask about registration. Some programs require you to sign up in advance, so a quick phone call to (832) 927-2190 is the best first step. If you need space for a group, two meeting rooms (each seats up to 20 people) are available on weekdays, and the auditorium is open for evening rentals.
This center is run by Harris County Precinct One, the same local office that funds parks, senior services, and community programs across southeast Houston. If you use other Precinct One resources — parks, health fairs, or senior assistance programs — the El Franco Lee Community Center fits right into that network of neighborhood support.
