Free resource guide connecting neighbors to shelter, meals, healthcare, and housing services.
The Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County provides a helpful resource called the Help Card to connect people with housing and support services. This guide lists many local organizations that offer shelter, day centers, and other assistance to people experiencing homelessness in the Houston area.
If you need help finding services, you can call 2-1-1, the 24/7 information and referral service provided by the United Way of Greater Houston. The Help Card makes it easy to find phone numbers, addresses, and details about what each organization offers.
The first step toward getting permanent housing is completing a Coordinated Entry assessment. This means talking with a service provider who can figure out what help you need. The assessment looks at whether you qualify for different housing programs offered by CFTH partners.
CFTH itself does not run shelter sites, but the organization helps organize the whole system. If you need immediate help, you should call 211 to reach someone who can connect you with a shelter or other emergency services right away.
Coordinates Houston's homeless response system, connecting people to housing and services through data-driven community partnerships.
