Alabonson Park is a free 50-acre youth sports complex along White Oak Bayou in Houston. It offers baseball, soccer, and football fields, plus a playground, pavilion, and butterfly garden — all while helping protect the surrounding neighborhood from flooding.
The park includes four baseball and softball fields, one regulation soccer field, a practice field, and a football field. You will also find a pavilion with picnic tables, a concession stand, a playground, a community meeting room, and a butterfly garden. Admission is free.
Plan your visit around the seasonal hours so you arrive with plenty of daylight. Bring your own water and snacks, or use the concession stand when it is open. Keep pets on a leash, pick up after them, and stick to designated parking lots. Alcohol, glass containers, fireworks, and open fires are not allowed without a permit. Cook only on designated grills or camp stoves. Leave wildlife alone and take your trash with you. Following these simple rules keeps the park enjoyable for every family that visits.
