Northeast Houston has faced repeated flooding, aging housing, and unequal city services for years. WSR works to close those gaps — fixing homes, building organizing power, and pushing for policy change. This review shows why that work matters and what's possible when communities work together.
WSR combines hands-on repair work with community organizing and political education. Their Northeast Action Collective trains residents to speak at city hall, meet with officials, and run campaigns. Hub houses give neighbors a local safe point during disasters.
Their research turns community knowledge into data that can influence policy.
