Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Research and Education Act of 2025
A bipartisan bill directing the NIH to expand research and education on triple-negative breast cancer, which disproportionately affects African-American women.
H.R. 1806 is a federal bill introduced on March 3, 2025, by Representatives Joe Morelle and Don Bacon. It would direct the National Institutes of Health to expand research on triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), an aggressive cancer that is harder to treat and affects African-American women at three times the rate of white women. The bill also calls for broader public education about TNBC. It has been referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
This bill would direct federal health agencies to do more research and education on a type of breast cancer that is harder to treat. Houston residents, especially Black women, may be affected by how much funding and attention this cancer gets.
