This bill would let the Secretary of Veterans Affairs give grants to organizations that provide immigration legal services to noncitizen veterans. It was introduced in the 119th Congress as HR 9375 and referred to the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs on June 18, 2026. No further action has been recorded yet.
Some Houston veterans are noncitizens. This bill decides whether VA money can pay for immigration legal help for those veterans. Neighbors with family members who served but are not citizens could be directly affected.
