Harris County and Houston are working together to help homeless people while making public spaces safer. This partnership uses your tax dollars more wisely by combining city police work with county health and housing services instead of having duplicate programs.
More police officers will work overtime to help homeless people get services and keep public spaces clean and safe. County health and housing programs will work better with city police.
The city and county would continue separate programs for homelessness, which might waste money and be less helpful for both homeless people and neighborhoods.
