Leadership Houston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1982 in Houston, Texas. Its mission is to enlighten, empower, and engage diverse community leaders through a broadened knowledge of Houston, and to increase their civic leadership capacity for the benefit of Greater Houston and its stakeholders. The organization's flagship offering is its Signature Program, a ten-month immersive journey through Houston's history, economy, and development, featuring two overnight retreats and eight monthly class days covering key industries such as energy, healthcare, education, and government. Each class cohort also completes a civic community project. Leadership Houston also offers an Alumni Program that keeps graduates connected and engaged in civic life and organizational leadership.
