Harris County Public Health serves the 1.7 million residents of unincorporated Harris County and operates several clinics and programs in partnership with the City of Houston. HCPH provides immunizations, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, tuberculosis control, Women Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition services, and environmental health inspections. HCPH leads communicable disease surveillance and outbreak response for the county. The department operates community health clinics and mobile health units to reach underserved areas. Harris County Public Health also administers the county's Vital Statistics program, issuing birth and death certificates.
