The Emancipation Economic Development Council is a grassroots group working to revitalize and protect Houston's historic Third Ward. Formed in 2015, it brings together faith groups, nonprofits, businesses, and neighbors to preserve the area's people, culture, and history. Its programs include efforts to grow local commerce along Emancipation Avenue.
