TIRZ 18 Fifth Ward Board Meeting

Overview

The TIRZ 18 Fifth Ward board meets monthly to oversee infrastructure reinvestment in Houston's historic Fifth Ward neighborhood. Board meetings are open to the public and cover community revitalization, affordable housing preservation, drainage improvements, and streetscape investments in this historically significant African American neighborhood northeast of downtown. Fifth Ward residents are especially encouraged to attend and provide public comment on projects affecting their community.

IM Houston

For over 60 years, Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston has brought people of diverse faith traditions together for dialogue, collaboration, and service to the most vulnerable in our community. IM Houston operates Texas's largest Meals on Wheels program (delivering 1.5 million meals annually to 4,300+ homebound seniors), resettles refugees from 40+ countries, coordinates thousands of disaster and community volunteers through Volunteer Houston, and fosters interfaith understanding through dialogue programs, youth leadership, and cultural exchange.

Southwest Multi-Service Center

The Southwest Multi-Service Center is a City of Houston facility on High Star Drive serving the Sharpstown area and surrounding southwest Houston communities. The center brings health screenings, social services, public benefits navigation, and civic programming directly into one of Houston's most ethnically diverse areas. Sharpstown and the broader southwest corridor have significant immigrant and refugee populations, and the MSC plays an important role connecting these communities to city-administered resources and support programs. Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center

The Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center is a City of Houston facility located on Market Street in the Denver Harbor neighborhood on Houston's east side. Operated by the Houston Health Department, the center connects residents to public health programs, social services, community education, and local government resources. The facility serves as an anchor institution for a historically working-class neighborhood with deep roots in Houston's Latino and longtime industrial workforce communities.
