Overview
The Coalition for Barrier Free Living helps Houstonians with disabilities live independently through peer counseling, assistive technology, benefits navigation, housing assistance, and advocacy. Services include help applying for Social Security disability benefits, finding accessible housing, obtaining mobility equipment, and resolving ADA complaints. All counselors are people with disabilities. Services are free and available in English and Spanish.

The Coalition for Barrier Free Living is a Texas nonprofit that has served people with disabilities for nearly fifty years. Through its Houston Center for Independent Living, it provides assistive technology, peer support, independent living skills training, and advocacy to help people with disabilities live fully in our community.
